U9-U10
Welcome to U9/U10 Soccer!
Let's Add A Keeper!
One of the most exciting positions on the field for young players is the Goal Keeper! At the U9/U10 age groups we add 3 more players (Goal Keeper, a 2nd Centerback/Defender, and a Central Midfield player) to our Diamond formation when we played 4v4. We now have all the basic positions of a traditional 11v11 match and the kids are starting to become more interested in working together as a team.
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” - Pele
Our program is designed to give them plenty of touches on the ball, with 60 minutes of exercises and games that focus on body awareness, individual skill with the ball, competition through games, Teamwork and free play (7v7 scrimmaging).
We designed the U9/U10 schedule to memic a traditional training schedule. Players will train twice per week and have 1 game on Saturdays. The fields are larger then v4, but still on the smaller side. We will add 3 additional players to the field and build on previous seasons positional play. Each player will still rotate through every position. Goal scoring is typically less often with the addition of Keepers and extra players on the field.
