Philosophy:
"As a coach the goal is to cover two primary facets of the game, with the most basic being to make sure that players are properly fit in hopes of ensuring that they are ready for the quickly approaching season (as well as to mitigate risk of injury). Secondly, challenge each player to attain knowledge to quickly assess the “who, what, where, when, and why” of the game with hopes of enabling them to makethe best decision,providing the greatest value/benefit to their team.
When coaching an individual the approach is to try to keep the game simple and encourage each player to devote all that they can give to improving each training session/game. With each player, the objective is to strive to get to the next level. Whether the dream is to make their high school team, play at the collegiate level, or to someday play professionally the objective remains the same – improve daily in hopes of achieving the ability and knowledge to play at the next level."
Bio:
Coach Friend was born and raised in Bartlesville, OK. After graduating from Bartlesville High School in 2002 he attended the University of Oklahoma for his freshman year. The following summer he signed with Oklahoma Wesleyan University where he played and started for the next four years for the men’s soccer program. Coach Friend graduated in December of 2006 with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and in the following year, married Margaret Radlinger. In August of 2010, Coach Friend returned to Oklahoma Wesleyan where he was blessed with the opportunity to assist the men’s soccer program and graduated with his MBA in August 2012.

Playing Career:
Coach Friend started out playing youth soccer in Bartlesville, later moving on to playing competitive for WCSC and High School soccer, in which he was elected team captain his senior year. After graduation he went on to play at Oklahoma Wesleyan University where he started every game for the next four years. There he obtained numerous awards, yet more importantly,genuine friendships and memories that are fondly remembered to this day. Coach Friend still continues to hone his skills by playing in the 1st Division in Tulsa’s NOASA league.
Education:
In 2006 Coach Friend received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. In 2012, Coach Friend received a Master’s in Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
