The spirt had just completed a successful run through the State Cup tournament the previous season. Coach Walsh’s family relocation came on the heels of Edmond Memorial’s high school state championship game. During the next two years while playing varsity soccer for Edmond Memorial, the team enjoyed a season long ranking of #1 in the state. A loss in the semi-finals to the eventual state champions in 1993 ended his High School soccer Career. The year after his graduation, Edmond Memorial captured its First and only Boys State Championship title. “I have had the great pleasure of being part of championship caliber teams, but not during their championship year” says Walsh. After high school he joined the University of Central Oklahoma’s team earning a scholarship. Once at UCO Coach Walsh discovered his passion for Coaching and became an undergraduate assistant coach for the UCO Women’s soccer team. While serving as an undergraduate assistant, the UCO women were ranked at #6 and #13 in the Nation.
